Japanese American cuisine, expressed through the seasons
Nisei’s menu moves with Bay Area tides and harvests. The aim is food that feels familiar yet new—nostalgia, refinement, and a small spark of wonder. Chef David Yoshimura cooks from two wells of memory: his Japanese American roots and a career honed in exacting kitchens. The result is personal, precise, and quietly joyful.
Menus change often. Some courses are playful, others classical; all are grounded in superb ingredients and the rhythm of a well-paced evening.
